ICBC Coverage
If you have been in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) and have filed a claim with ICBC you are eligible for 12 massage therapy treatments without a doctors referral starting within 12 weeks of your MVA date. If treatment is starting outside the initial 12 week period a treatment extension and doctors referral may be required.
An initial visit will require:
- ICBC claim number (ex. AE16693-0)
- Date of MVA
- Personal Health Number (PHN)
- Date of birth
A one (1) hour initial assessment and treatment is fully covered by ICBC and direct billed at no cost to you.
Subsequent 45 minute treatments are covered by ICBC and direct billed at no cost to you.*
Additional treatment time (eg. full one hour) can be requested but the additional cost must be paid by the patient. Third party extended health providers (eg. Pacific Blue Cross, Green Shield Canada, etc.) may not cover the additional costs of an ICBC related treatment.
Additional massage therapy treatments after the initial 12 weeks can be requested by the RMT.
*Mobile ICBC subsequent treatments have an additional cost to the patient not covered by extended health insurers.
